About The Concept NOKIA 888

nokia 888
*design concept
A personal mobile communication device which lets you be free and fun. It is light, simple and carefree. You can change its form according to your needs during the day.
*target
It is targeted to the young consumers who are likely to be active and take place in a lot of different activities.
*why this target ?
Because they move and change place too much. They do a lot of different things during the day. So that’s what my design offers : to adjust to the moment, the place and the function.
*technologies that are used
It uses liquid battery, speech recognition, flexible touch screen, touch sensitive body cover which lets it understand and adjust to the environment. It has a simple programmable body mechanism so that it changes forms in different situations.
*the functionality of design
You dont have to carry it in your pocket or on your wrist. You can carry it anywhere, in anyform. You can roll it, bend it, put on your clothes like a clip. It also makes some form changes that makes it more ergonomical: i.e. when you want to talk on the phone, the body form turns into the form of the good old telephone. You can personalize these forms and record them. So it fits you the best in the way that you have chosen. The functions that it has also create a feeling of electronical pet, as it senses your moves, understand what you want, respond you in the best way. It learns you, to fit you better. Also e-motions lets you send forms to the other 888 users. It could be the shape of a heart or a small dance. This way you can talk without words.
*how the user interacts
It means electronical motions that 888 has. You can send and receive forms from / to friends. You can send a heart shape to your girlfriend, so her telephone turns into an icon of heart. Or you can send a dancing form to your friends to call them to the party tonight. This is the fun side of the product. If we look from the functionality side, 888 is quite flexible. You can put it into your pocket, roll it and make it smaller, or put on your wrist when you want to make a video call on the go. If you want to talk like a normal telephone, there you have your telephone shape. We go through a lot of places and situations in the daily life, so it seems like one form is not enough.
*what is unique ?
You can change the form of the body. Not just the color. And you can do the same by sending an e-motion to your friend.

Nokia Future Mobile Concept

Designer : Kimberly Hu
This a mobile concept only designed by Kimberly Hu.He designed this mobile for nokia.Scentsory is a mobile communication device that works with the senses of smell, sight, hearing and touch, giving users the ability to experience remote communication on multi-sensory levels. With the development of Scentsory, remote interfacing will become more biologically natural. The future ofmobile communication is ready to take part in rich, multi-layered, multi-sensory experiences.
nokia scentsory, the future of mobile phone
In addition to basic audiovisual features, Scentsory is able to detect, transmit and emit smells. It can also radiate colours, lighting, and temperature from the caller?s environment.

When the phone is in ?flat mode? (opened flat), the LED touchpad, two screens and stereo speakers for audiovisual calls are accessible. (Wireless ?earbuds? are available.) In ?open mode?, two screens with a hidden camera and stereo speakers, interior scent detectors, emitter and exterior temperature sensors are revealed. In ?closed mode?, the phone?s slim profile befits traditional voice calls. The LED screen on the lower folding surface alerts the user to incoming calls.

the future of nokia mobile phone

Smell, the most evocative of the senses, can unconsciously trigger entire memories, complete with deep-rooted associated emotions. The average human is able to recognise approximately 10,000 different odours. Over time, odour-memory remains as other recollections fade. People recall smells with 65% accuracy after a year, while visual recollection of photographs sinks to about 50% after only three months.Nanotechnology plays a key role in the development of this new device. Using highly sophisticated sensors, the electronic ?nose? samples the odour of the caller?s environs and transmits this to the recipient electronically. Scientists have found that a distinct genetic pattern is associated with every odour, so it is simply a matter of matching electrical harmonics with gene activity. This way, the perception of a smell by electrical stimulation could be technologically induced.

One Piece Concept of Nokia N8

How many users would actually brought an extra battery when you go out? You would rather to have an extra charger along or maybe a car charger instead. There also an option for you to have extended battery charger that can bring it anywhere if you are a heavy duty user.

By having the battery sealed in the phone, it can actually minimize the thickness of the device of 2~3mm allow it to looks slimmer and sleeker.

Beside that, the Nokia N8 is having an AMOLED screen which consume much lesser battery allowing it to last longer comparing with others model.

What if the battery got faulty?

Ahmad360 a member from ArabNokia forum have the answer for us.

He has actually shared some photos of his proto Nokia N8 and the removal of the battery.

It just need a Tork T6 (a guessing from the photo) screwdriver to unscrew 2 screws at the bottom and the battery can be removed. From the photos below, the battery look just like common BL-4D battery that used on Nokia N97 mini that can be purchased easily.

The Mobile Phones of the Future

The Mobile Phones of the Future

The future of mobile technology is a topic that has unlimited potential. As with any other device ever-evolving technology, mobile phones are constantly updated every day with new models and improved features. This, coupled with the technology that is currently being explored in the future on a broad range of new handsets for users in the vicinity.
In our current day and age where technical devices are plentiful, there is always a greatRange of products for a specific device. Take digital MP4 player as an example - since its introduction, not only the device proved to be cheaper than a portable media player box as its predecessors (like the MP3 player), it has also in many ways, designed for different Tastes and styles change. The flexibility of the technical devices are nowadays produce strong technology contribute to rapid development in mobile phone - since theMarket, there are so many companies, businesses and designers to compete for the worldwide mobile phone, there will be new incentives to produce something more.
Take, for example, some of the so-as' mobile phones of the future "by BusinessWeek Online Magazine. While these phones may be extravagant and nothing more, they no doubt, a great display on how developers think and what we should expect from mobile phone technology inFuture.
The introduction of a $ 1260000000 phone with a body made of pure gold and covered in 120 carats of diamonds is one of the most expensive models of Goldvish released, depending on the markets for the general public. Next-Generation Cell Phones

Listed here are a few of the significant trends in the constantly evolving cell-phone business.
  • Growth in e-mail: Despite the patent scare of recent months, BlackBerry sales continue to boom, keeping Research in Motion in the clover. This is a hot product, and lots of competition is emerging. Look for more "push" e-mail cell phones from Palm and other companies.
  • Rollout of 3G: 2.5G technologies like EDGE and 1xRTT are peaking, and now gradually succumbing to real 3G, such as cdma2000's EVDO from Verizon and Sprint Nextel and WCDMA from Cingular and TMobile. It's now available in most major cities. Expanded 3G speeds also are available with the addition of the high-speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) service for WCDMA.
  • 4G in the works: No kidding. Research continues in the development of the next big thing—4G. It's expected to use OFDM and MIMO, with data speeds reaching 20 Mbits/s. It sounds like WiMAX could be the new 4G. The target is after 2010, but as we've seen with 3G, it will most certainly take much longer.
  • Multiple radios per cell phone: 3G phones already have multiple transceivers, not only for the 3G service, but also to support older 2.5G services. Bluetooth is very common in cell phones for headsets, as well as for links to laptops and PDAs. Now, Wi-Fi is making inroads, and many E911 phones use a GPS radio. Even single-chip FM radios are available. WiMAX could be an option, too. Score one more radio when the new broadcast video services become available.
  • The ultra-low-cost handset: Several companies like Philips, Silicon Labs, STMicroelectronics, and Texas Instruments now have simple GSM cell phones on a chip. These devices make the super-inexpensive cell phone a reality, allowing carriers to greatly expand their markets into developing countries and other areas where a dirtcheap phone makes sense.
  • Walkie talkies: The original Nextel iDen walkie-talkie cell phones were a big hit, and that niche is growing. Most other vendors and carriers now offer walkie-talkie phones and services. It comes in handy for many types of jobs and with the family.
  • China as the cell-phone leader: China is well on its way to being the dominant cell-phone user. It already has more subscribers than any other country, and there's no end in sight. China has become the driving factor in cell-phone technology.
  • The handset as a remote: You can now program and control your TiVo from your cell phone, thanks to a new service offered by Verizon. Expect other uses of the cell phone as a remote. Machineto-machine (M2M) applications using the phone for remote monitoring and control of your house are available in some areas now, and they're expected to balloon in due time.
  • Replacing landlines with wireless: A disturbing trend, for carriers at least, is the continued abandonment of regular landline phones for a totally wireless phone. As cell service expands and becomes more reliable, this trend will continue, albeit slowly. It's no wonder the phone companies are worried.
  • Style is as important as technology: While new technological developments continue to drive the direction of the industry, handset style has a huge impact on sales. Looks, format, and "coolness" are major selling points. Just look at the buzz created by the stylish Motorola RAZR. Now, more companies are offering slick new phones in colors and designs to encourage more new and replacement sales.
  • Larger memories: With audio, video, and game downloads getting bigger, cell phones are adding much more flash to accommodate it. Some phones already support the plug-in flash modules used in some digital cameras. Also, hard drives are already showing up in some high-end phones to store music playlists and, no doubt, more games and video in the future.
  • Improved cameras: About 50% of all cell phones now come with a digital camera. And their resolution is improving, with 2- and 3-Mpixel cameras now available. Many can take limited video, too.
  • More multimedia: Audio is here now, along with some gaming. Video is available in a limited form now, with more to come.
  • Location services and E911: The FCC said that 95% of all new phones required a location-service technology such as GPS or uplink time difference of arrival (U-TDOA) by December 31, 2005, so that your 911 service could find you. Such phones are now available, but the public has been slow to adopt them. The whole E911 thing continues to drag out, mainly in the GPS-equipped cdma2000 phones of Verizon and Sprint Nextel. Ultimately, 911 will work with cell phones, and we may even get the various location-based services promised years ago.
  • Wi-Fi and UMA: You can now get dual-mode phones with regular cell service as well as regular Wi-Fi access to access points and hot-spots. This lets you make Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) calls via the wireless local-area network. A new technology called universal mobile access (UMA) is now becoming available to make the handoff from one service to the other smooth and transparent to the user. I wonder if that will eventually include VoIP on WiMAX.
  • Near-field communications (NFC): NFC is a version of RFID that uses very low-power 13.56-MHz radios for really short-range (inches) communications such as financial transactions, so you'd pay for items much like you would with a smart card.
