Hacker group “Anonymous” hits Apple online survey server, publishes user data on 27 individuals

Anonymous, a well-known hacker group, is claiming to have broken into an Apple server and obtained usernames and passwords. The server in question appears to be the abs.apple.com server, which Apple utilizes for online surveys. Anonymous issued a tweet from its Twitter account on Sunday claiming Apple could be a potential target.
“Not being so serious, but well … Apple could be target, too. But don’t worry, we are busy elsewhere,…”
The usernames and passwords of 27 individuals were then published to the text-sharing site Pastebin. As of Monday, that specific server displayed an error message. Apple declined to comment when asked.
For those of you not familiar with the hacker group Anonymous, they are well-known for attacking sites and companies that they consider opponents of the popular site WikiLeaks. It’s also said that the hacker/WikiLeak group LulzSec emerged from Anonymous as well. These groups have hit Sony Corporation, the Central Intelligence Agency, and many others simply for their own enjoyment (or maybe to make a point?).
I don’t see groups like these setting their eyes on Apple when it comes to a seriously malicious attack but who knows? They don’t seem to put all their efforts into exploiting any one particular company but any data breach is a concern. Hopefully Apple is looking into this.

More iPhone nano Rumors Resurface

As early as last year rumors of an iPhone nano surfaced, and they were repeated in August of this year. They're baaaaack, this time prompted by a post on iDealsChina which purports to show an iPhone nano case.

iDealsChina says the above shows an XSKN case vs. a iPhone nano version of the XSKN case.

"It is the same height as the just release Nano but wider and thicker and with the same iPhone 3G contours. It has 3 sensors, camera, mirror screen but no 3G. Production will start on the 20th with 60,000 to 80,000/day pieces coming off the assembly line. Steve Jobs will be announcing it during the January MacWorld Show and you will find it in the stores shortly afterwards."

Microsoft Releases Its First-ever IPhone Application

Microsoft's first-ever iPhone application is a slick photo viewer with a browsing capability that handles a large number of photos on a mobile device screen.

Microsoft said the aim of the mobile application is to let users view even wall-sized displays on a mobile device, regardless of the amount of bandwidth on the network. But the viewer could also be used to browse e-mail or other content. "If you can think of a data type, this can be applied to it," said Microsoft developer Ben Vanik, in a short video.

Seadragon mobile can be used in conjunction with Microsoft's Photosynth application, which takes batches of digital photos and stitches them together. In order to create a Deep Zoom image, Microsoft offers a tool that will prepare the photo or document.
