Problem Solution Motorola RAZR V3

(1) My phone displays 'unable to charge' or no battery
My Motorola RAZR V3 has suddenly stopped charging. It displays an 'Unable to Charge' message on the home screen or the battery icon just disappears completely! However, when I plug the mini-USB charger into it the the phone lights up so it does recognise something is plugged in. I know it isn't the battery as I've checked this and tried swapping with another V3 and it works fine and the other phone's battery makes no difference to my phone. When the battery icon and 'Unable to Charge' message is displayed I've noticed a new icon appears next to the battery one at the top right-hand corner of the home screen. I don't recognise it but it looks like a phone with a straight vertical line either side with 2 chevrons (^ but facing inwards) about 1/4 way from top & bottom of each line. Otherwise the phone works perfectly!!!
SOLUTION
1. I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE "UNABLE TO CHARGE." THE PROBLEM WITH MINE WAS THE FOUR PRONGS THAT THE BATTERY CONNECTS TO IN THE PHONE. ONE OF MY PRONGS WERE STUCK IN THE DOWN POSITION AS IF THE BATTERY WERE THERE. ALL I DID WAS USE A KNIFE AND POPPED IT BACK IN THE OUT POSITION. THEN I TRYED TO CHARGE MY PHONE AND IT WORKED PERFECTLY.
2. Had the same problems, my phone said unable to charge and invalid battery and I took a baby wipe and cleaned the pronges in the phone and the battey and then took a tiny screw driver from a class repair kit and popped the prongs in the phone up in even position and the phone started charging, I havent checked it yet to see if there is anymore problems going on because I have it on the charger now but hopfully it will work ok..
3. I just came here with the same problem. However, when I plugged in the charger after removing the battery, it did nothing. So I tried to gently clean the battery terminals, and put it back in the phone. It started charging right away. I used a tiny bit of optical glass wash to clean the terminals, and a very soft cloth. Hope this works for you!
4. I personally found, after having tried cleaning the contacts for the connection from battery to the phone, making sure that the contacts were making contact, blowing out the back of the phone, and all else, that the solution was as simple as using the actual Motorola charger. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but I found the charger, plugged it in, and I got 'battery charging'. Thanks everyone!!
5. it is hardware problem it will be helping if you have multimeter an check its batery conector whether its second pin to gnd is gronded or not if it is grounded then there 5 pin chip contaning bridge of diode replace it
6. I had this problem after my phone had gotten wet. I had polished all of the contact points with a straight pin, but still was "unable to charge". After reading about using glass cleaner above, I decided to try the tape head cleaner and swabs I use for cleaning my camcorder. Instant success!

(2) Blocking calls, motorola razr v3
I have an annoying customer that has gotten ahold of my cell phone number and I want to block his call. Is there a way within the cell phone I can block this number?
SOLUTION
1. Yes, sort of: go to Settings->Security->Enter lock code here if you've created one(otherwise ignore this step)->Limit Use->Restrict Incoming CallsFrom this step, you'll have to choose to restrict incoming calls from anyone NOT in your Contacts . You'll still get the voicemails and notifications of who called, but unwanted callers will go right to voicemail and you can call them back whenever you are ready.
2. Add them to your address book, save them to the phone (NOT the SIM), and set their ring type to "Silent" - they'll still call, but your phone won't ring.Well, it won't ring if it's on normal ring settings. If you have the phone set to vibrate for some reason the ring type seems to be ignored and it will vibrate anyway.
3. Getting restricted calls is there any way to block or set the phone to recognize the restricted/unwanted calls?
4. If you go to security on settings you can block incoming or out going calls only, Im pretty sure that you can't block one person calling you.

(3) STORED NAME NOT SHOWING WHEN INCOMING CALL
WHEN NAME AND NUMBER ARE STORED ON THE PHONE, WHEN YOU CALL SOME ONE YOU SEE THE NAME SHOWING, BUT WHEN THEY CALL, YOU ONLY SEE THE NUMBER OF THE PERSON AND NOT THE NAME LISTED IN THE PHONE. IF YOU SET THE PICTURE ID ENTRY WHEN THE PERSON CALL YOU DONT SEE IT EITHER. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?
SOLUTION
1. seing that you do have some great answeres there is on other thing to look at see if your friends id is set o thier account and yours in the billing system some times it is not provisiond and needs to be set by your carrier run in to this alot at work its more common than people think
2. You have to make sure the area code is included in the phone number setting. Also when calling out you must include the area code or the picture and name will NOT show up. Let me know if this works.
3. Do you have the names in your phone programmed with the area code, or just the number. Also, if you do have the area code in there, is it programmed with a 1 before it? the number you see when you get an incoming call, is the number that should be stored.Assuming you do have everything right, contact the support for your mobile network to assist you, or the shop that sold you the phone and ask if theres an option to enable/disable that option.

(4) Downloading pictures problem
I have a Razr V3m phone. Is there an way to download pictures off my phone and onto my computer? If so what do I need to do this?
SOLUTION
1. If your computer has bluetooth, the razr manual (pdf online) walks you through the steps of transferring photos (1 at a time).
2. There are several different ways to do this. You can pay for the service thru your provider, pay for the software(motorola phone tools), download free software(bitpim), save it to your SD card if you have one, pull it out and use a card reader to get it, or get a software upgrade that changes your phone to a USB drive and pull it off your phone.
3. You need a USB cable and then go to "hack the razr. com" and from there follow the links to download P2K commander and a driver to recognize your phone. With p2K its simple to transfer media to and from your phone.

(5) RAZR V3 DEAD SCREEN
Hello, the screen on my razer is dead all of a sudden. The keypad works but both screens show nothing at all on them. The phone appears to work as it rings and I can answer the phone. If the screens got "burned" how can that happen at once for both of them?I read previous solution regarding the moisture dots and they appear white. Please help.
SOLUTION
1. This worked for me - I had to do it several times because I never figured out whether to start with the phone "off" or "on".Press # * and the "end call (red)" buttons simultaneously and hold for several sections. Then power phone off and back on. I read this was the equivalent of "safe mode" booting for a RAZR. My phone has performed flawlessly since I did this on the 6th of February!
2. You might have a problem with the cables in the top (LCD) part of the phone, if you feel comfortable disassembling go here, you might just have a loose connection or corrosion the the cable ends.

(6) Motorola Razr V3 BLUE TOOTH Problem
I AM RYING TO SET UP MY BLUE TOOTH BUT I DONT HAVE INSTRUCTIONS IN FACT I DONT HAVE THE BOX ANYMORE SO I DONT KNOW THE NAME OF IT THE EARPIECE SAYS OT-020C
SOLUTION
1. The name of your bluetooth headset is the OmniTech (OT-020C).This will be slightly difficult to explain without knowing the model of phone... First off, you need to ensure that you are using a bluetooth enabled phone. You will need to enter the settings and tools menu. From within that menu, you need to find either "connections" or "bluetooth" and select. Make sure bluetooth is enabled. There will be an option to add a new device. On your bluetooth headset, hold down the power button down until the power light stays lit. This may take 5 seconds or more. Now your bluetooth is in pairing mode.Back to the phone, you want to hit "add new device". On certain models of phone you additionally have to select "search for devices". Your phone will recognize any headsets in pairing mode. When it is finished scanning, allow the phone to add your headset. It will ask you for the device pin code. This pin code will be 0000.I hope this answered all of your concerns. If you are having trouble with finding the correct settings from within your phone, reply with your phone model and I can give you more detailed information!
2. I have just purchased a OT-020C the instructions say that you hold down the button on the phone until a blue light flashes this turns on the device, if you hold down the button untill a blue and red light flash it is in paring mode so you can only pair while the Blue and red light flashes.

(7) Motorola Razr V3 phone freezes up
my razr phone freezes up when trying to create text message. phone works fine. red dot has appeared from just having phone in humid bathroom. can this be fixed anywhere.
SOLUTION
1. this is a question:i turned off my razr to go to a movie and when i went to turn it on again, the screen wasd white. i tried to hold the on button but it still didnt go on.what should i do
2. Throw it in the garbage and grab 2 tin cans... you'll have better luck.
3. Its common with motos razors to get freeze ups. I even heard about it happening when sending sms or working on the calendar. If you think it might be the humidity, you could try putting it in an airing cupboard for a few days, with bat disconnected. If nothing works, try getting it fixed on warranty if valid, just don't mention the humidity part ;]good luck
4. try installing the lastest software for it through usb and the motorola website

(8) Unlock codes motorola Razr V3
forgot my unlock code for my cell phone
SOLUTION
1. you can press the menu button and it will take you to the security code then enter 000000 security default code if you have not changed it ......that will by pass the unlock code...but to remove the unlock code you , will have to take it to a mobile store and have then reset it for you.
2. try the last 4 digets of your phone number or 1234 if all else your phone store will unlock it for you, hope this helps
