Some Defects:

The Motorola Rokr E8 navigation controls take acclimation and the phone is rather sluggish.It also lacks 3G, full e-mail, and wireless music downloads.

You know, they both focus on music capabilities, have some special touch screen/keyboard, etc.But, when you say there not on the same scale, exactly! Thats why i say “poor mans iPhone”, they have similar touch ideas, just vastly different price tags and capability…

Alltel Motorola Q9c Puts the Lime in the Coconut

Verizon Wireless may be launching four new phones, but Alltel is being a little more colorful. Alltel is picking up the Motorola Q9c, but they're going with standard black. Instead, their take on the smartphone will ship in lime green or licorice colors. Obviously, it's the former that is pictured here.

Alltel didn't provide a firm launch date, but they did say that the Motorola Q9c would ship some time this summer. They've kept the price pretty low at a mere $99, assuming that you'll deal with a $100 mail-in-rebate and two-year service agreement.

Sprint’s Motorola Q9c features a fully open GPS receiver - the first Windows Mobile smartphone to rock integrated GPS on Sprint’s network. The Moto Q9c’s “open” GPS means that the receiver’s COM ports are visible and accessible to external programs - not just the programs (like navigation software) that the carrier wants you to use. Applications like Google Maps and Microsoft Live Search are free to leverage the GPS receiver - the way it should be.

Unfortunately, the GPS unit in the Motorola Q9c is set to acquire positional data from satellite only - making the device essentially a stand-alone GPS receiver. Sprint apparently didn’t think aGPS (assisted GPS), which uses cell-tower location information to help get a position-lock, was necessary on the Moto Q9c.

Motorola W231 Reviews and full phone specifications

Introduction:

Well, Motorola has announced another mobile phone for music centered audience. W231 as it is called is an entry level music phone, which comes in a candy bar form factor. It is one of the first phones from Motorola featuring dedicated music buttons on top of the handset. Dedicated play pause, skip and rewind buttons as well as music application shortcut key. Further to satisfy hardcore music fans, the phone also has stereo Bluetooth A2DP as well as FM transmitter so that you could hook up your car’s radio tuner to play tracks from the device. However, presence of 3.5mm jack for using standard stereo headsets is still not sure.Announced with ZN200, the price is still to be disclosed. The phone would be available around same time in September this year. Motorola has officially announced their low-end candy bar musical phone, W231. There is not much known yet about the handset, there are no detailed specs. It is, however, sure that it has dedicated music player keys, it has an FM radio and FM transmitter too. The presence of a 3.5 jack output is not yet known, just like the phone's pricing and launch date.

The Motorola W231 is a dual-band GSM cell phone that features limited hardware offerings. 4.tyler:I'm gonna get this phone, tear the housing off it, then place the "guts" into the housing of a Motorola W510 (don't worry I know what i'm doing) I like the features on this phone but I REALLY HATE the design, so IF I get this phone, I'm definitely going to change it's housing.
5.G:I think Moto need to go back to the drawing board with this phone. The EM25 and EM30 are good looking but this one looks too plastic and it does look like a toy. The shape is nice, but the screen size looks very small compared to the rest of the phone. Some metal and new colours are needed, plus a different coloured music key. That button sticks out like a sore thumb.

Outlook:

Feature-wise, when it comes down to middle-range and low-range phones, in my personal view, Motorola makes the best of them as they don’t try to swindle you by taking out some of the regular features such as microSD slot and Bluetooth A2DP, however, design-wise, like I always say, Motorola needs to get their act together. The Motorola MotoROKR EM25 seems to be another music phone that would appeal to the mass market.

Finally, the EM25 has a dedicated music key for say, pausing or playing tracks. Like the other two Motorola handsets, the EM25 also supports FM radio but also includes a feature called FMShare that lets you share details of your favourite station with a friend through text message.The EM25 can also identify tracks that you hear whilst out and about, such as tunes playing in a shop’s changing rooms.

The ROKR EM25 features SongID, a service that allows you to quickly and easily find artist and track information for songs that you hear on your car radio or other source, and the innovative FMShare feature allows you to share audio clips and FM radio stations with friends who have phones equipped with an FM radio.
