This excilent mobile phone released in February 2008, the W890i is an upgraded version of the superslim W880i Walkman phone. The W880i faced some criticism because it lacked an FM radio and had a horrible keypad, but Sony have been listening hard, because these issues have been fixed in the W890i.

The W890i looks very similar to its predecessor as it's a classic design superslim phone with a user-friendly keypad and a nice 5-way navigation key, plus dedicated music keys. At 10mm it's one of the thinnest phones around and is super-lightweight at 78g.

The W910 Walkman phone is deliberate for amusement – music, 3D games, video and high-speed web entrance – and adds a new Shake control for game play or selecting music tracks and the new Walkman aspect SensMe, a new way to browse music files using tempo and style. This slimline HSDPA phone includes a 320x240 pixel 262K TFT QVGA display, 2 megapixel camera, Memory Stick Micro removable storage, picture, media browser and Media Manager PC software.

The non-number keys are curiously small, especially in light of the ample space neighboring them. A spherical silver five-way navigation key is flank on either side by teensy send and end buttons that are jam-packed right up adjacent to the soft keys. They look small enough to cause problems, but fared surprisingly well during testing. Even more miniscule are the power and Walkman keys hiding on the top of the handset.

Sony Ericsson’s R306

Sony Ericsson’s R306 has the curious feature of submission a full stereo AM and FM radio. With devoted exterior controls, as well as RDS (Radio Data System) and Track ID, the R306 is evidently about listen to radio while you're on the go.

Only the station name (e.g. 2DAYFM) is displayed, appearing instead of the frequency. The radio offers 20 presets (for both FM and AM). You can naturally listen with the phone closed thanks to the put on show and preset buttons on the exterior of the unit.

The Sony Ericsson G700

The Sony Ericsson G700 comes with a 2.4” TFT Touchscreen and it has a 240 x 320 pixels resolution, sustaining up to 262k colors. Further the touch-input, it also has all required hardware steering buttons (including soft keys), which allows it to be used just as a typical phone. The buttons and the D-pad are typical in devise, excluding for the two small round shortcuts to notes and messaging. The same goes for the numeric keypad, which is separated in three columns far from each other.

G700 performs very well as a regular phone with easy entrance to all options via the keyboard and the D-pad. The menu edge is parallel to the one worn in the new SE models (K660, K850, W890 and others) and has large gorgeous icons.

The model is tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900 MHz) and lone band UMTS. It is prominent that the browser is in the way of being urbanized and has trouble visualizing web pages, so we cannot give you our final opinion. We still think it is very promising because it has the new window, backdrop and zoom in/out options.
