According to sources, talking to Boy Genius Report, RIM is developing a version of its popular BlackBerry messaging (BBM) software for Android and the iPhone. It may take this effort to better compete WhatsApp road, Kik and beluga, which offer similar solutions to BBM, but on different platforms.
RIM may choose to water down versions for the iPhone and Android, however, providing BlackBerry smartphones, the best overall experience. RIM to launch Android BBM, this year, and it is difficult to know when a version of IOS to the ground.
