Verizon wireless and iPhone 5 Rumors

Verizon Wireless will start selling Apple's iPhone next year, ending AT&T's U.S. exclusive on the phone, say two people familiar with the plans.iPhone Verizon will unveiled iPhones to customers in 2011, according to the people, who declined to be named because the information is not public.The latest rumor, in case you haven't heard, is that Verizon will start selling Apple's iPhone in January of 2011. AT&T declined to comment about iphone verizon.



Verizon Wireless is planning and building a high-speed fourth-generation network.They plan to release more devices that will run on the 4G technology.Verizon's CDMA-based wireless network differs from the GSM technology AT&T's network is based on.


"Apple is going to dramatically increase the number of devices it sells in the U.S. when exclusivity at AT&aT ends," Hodulik says. "It's hard to ignore the quality issues that AT&T has faced."

This is a victory for Apple having A Verizon partnership. Apple will dominat against rivals such as Research In Motion and Motorola, whose phones are promoted by the carrier. Motorola makes smart phones that use Google's Android operating system. RIM makes BlackBerrys.

"For Apple, it means a larger addressable market," says Andy Hargreaves, an analyst at Pacific Crest Securities. "It's also good news for Apple in that it will spread the load on the wireless data networks."

Apple has sold more than 50 million iPhones since their introduction. The latest version, iPhone 4, sold more than 1.7 million units in the first three days after its June 24 debut.

iPhone 5 will debut in January 2011 or July 2011. July is historically when Jobsy has unveiled the new iPhone models, but iLounge posits it could be earlier, to address the hardware issues in iPhone 4.iPhone 5 “won’t” look that different from the iPhone 4. iPhone 5 is including a faster processor of 1.2GHz, additional memory and more storage, redesigned antenna, and a 3.7″ mobile screen.This is the first time that iPhone launched their big screen handset.The previous range of display was 3.5 inch.
